Legislative Platform

 

The Kansas Association of Retired School Personnel (KARSP) supports the Kansas Coalition of Public Retirees and encourages coalitions with other professional organizations and educational agencies working to improve public education and public employee retirement benefits.

 

KARSP advocates legislation as follows:

●     Increases in the KPERS monthly benefit amount 

●     Preservation and improvement of the KPERS defined benefit plan 

●     Prohibition of the Legislative and Executive Branches of State Government from use of KPERS annual statutory contributions as a source of income to balance or supplement the State General Fund 

●     Fair and equitable treatment of all retirees when working after retirement 

●     Adequate state funding for public education pre-kindergarten through the university level
